What does tenant insurance cover?
Your apartment is your home, even if you don’t own it.
The contents of your unit
Tenant insurance covers your furniture, clothing, appliances, sporting equipment, and everything else within your apartment. The only exceptions are high-value items such as jewelry and fine art, which may require a separate, specific policy.
Personal Liability
If a guest is injured in your unit or an incident like a fire or a leak damages another unit, your rental insurance policy will provide coverage. This includes coverage for medical expenses and loss of income for the affected individual, without you having to pay for it out of pocket.
Additional Living Expenses
If your apartment becomes inaccessible due to a covered incident such as smoke damage or mold cleanup, tenant insurance will reimburse living expenses like hotel costs, furniture storage, and transportation expenses.
